Privacy Policy

1. Who operates Defogit

Defogit is operated by Evgeny Knoblokh, an individual based in Thailand, under the Knoblabs brand. Questions about this Privacy Policy can be sent to [email protected].

2. Scope and accounts

This Policy applies to Defogit for iOS (bundle ID com.knoblabs.defogit) and the related website. Defogit is a calm focus and grounding experience with an interactive simulated fogged-glass surface. You do not register for or create a Defogit account. Your Apple Account is used by Apple for App Store downloads and purchases, but Defogit does not receive your Apple Account password.

3. Information we process

Depending on how you use Defogit, the following categories of information may be processed:

• Local app data. Defogit stores settings and app state on your device so the app can work as expected.
• Apple purchase data. Apple processes App Store payments, refunds, and transaction history. Apple may provide Defogit and its purchase-management provider with product, transaction, purchase, refund, and entitlement information needed to confirm and restore access. Apple does not provide the developer with your payment credentials or Apple Account password.
• Adapty purchase and paywall data. Adapty displays the paywall or Flow, obtains product information, helps verify and restore purchases, and manages access to purchased collections. Adapty may process product and transaction information, purchase and refund status, access status, paywall or Flow display and interaction events, an Adapty Profile ID, an installation identifier, and possibly IDFV for app or vendor functionality. These are pseudonymous app or installation identifiers, not advertising identifiers. Adapty may also process device model, operating system, app and SDK versions, locale, time zone, App Store storefront, store country, and the current App Tracking Transparency status without showing a permission request.
• Firebase Analytics data. Firebase Analytics processes product interaction events, session information, an app-instance or installation identifier, app version, device model, operating system version, language and regional settings, and approximate geography determined by the service. The analytics configuration does not set a Firebase user ID or user properties.
• Firebase Crashlytics data. Firebase Crashlytics may process crash reports and stack traces, app state at the time of a crash, app, operating system, and device information, installation and session identifiers, diagnostic logs, and other technical information needed to investigate errors.
• Support messages. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to include in that message.
• Website delivery data. When you visit this website, hosting and network providers may process standard request information needed to deliver and protect the site. Network infrastructure may technically handle information such as an IP address, browser type, and request timing.

Defogit does not send Firebase or Adapty your name, email address, phone number, Apple Account, or a developer-created customer user ID. Defogit also does not send Firebase App Store receipts, transaction identifiers, or unprocessed purchase-error text.

4. Product analytics events

Firebase Analytics is used to understand how the product is used and where technical or interaction problems occur. Events may record:

• opening the app, moving it to the background, and starting or ending an analytics session;
• opening the interactive glass mode, starting to draw, starting or completing a background, and active drawing time;
• opening the background catalog, viewing or selecting a collection, and pressing a purchase button;
• opening the paywall or encountering a paywall loading error;
• starting, completing, cancelling, entering a pending state, or encountering an error during a purchase;
• starting, completing, or encountering an error while restoring purchases;
• opening or changing the fogging-speed setting, completing onboarding, and technical errors while loading backgrounds.

An event may contain a random identifier for the current analytics session. This identifier changes after 30 minutes without meaningful user activity and is not a permanent account or device identifier.

5. Firebase configuration and BigQuery

Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics are enabled automatically when the app starts. The current app does not show a separate consent screen or provide an in-app switch for these services.

As of the effective date, Defogit uses Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics through Firebase Unity SDK 13.17.0. The app uses the IDFA-free FirebaseAnalytics/Core configuration. Firebase advertising-personalization signals and automatic advertising-attribution registration are disabled, and Firebase collection of IDFV is disabled. Defogit does not set Firebase user IDs or user properties and does not manually collect device identifiers for Firebase.

Firebase is linked to Google BigQuery for product analysis and diagnostics. Analytics data is exported daily, and Crashlytics data is exported in batches. The dataset is located in the EU multi-region. Advertising identifiers are excluded from the export. Streaming export, Firebase Sessions export, Performance Monitoring, and Cloud Messaging export are disabled.

At the effective date, the project uses BigQuery Sandbox. Under the current configuration, exported tables and related data expire automatically after 60 days. If the billing plan, export configuration, dataset location, or retention settings change, this Policy will be updated to reflect the new arrangement.

6. Advertising and tracking

Defogit does not include advertising networks. Adapty collection of Apple IDFA and Google Advertising ID, special IP-address collection and synchronization, and attribution integrations are disabled. The app does not contain NSUserTrackingUsageDescription and does not show the App Tracking Transparency authorization prompt.

7. Why information is processed

We process information only where it is needed to:

• deliver the app experience;
• store your settings and local app state;
• show optional one-time in-app purchases;
• validate a non-consumable purchase and keep the purchased background collection unlocked on an ongoing basis for the corresponding Apple Account;
• restore purchases and paid access;
• understand product usage and improve the app experience;
• identify crashes, diagnose errors, and improve reliability;
• respond to support requests; and
• keep the app and website secure and available.

8. Service providers and their roles

Defogit relies on a small number of third-party services:

• Apple distributes the app and processes App Store payments, refunds, and purchase records. See the Apple Privacy Policy.
• Adapty supplies the paywall and product information, verifies and restores purchases, and manages access to purchased collections. See the Adapty Privacy Policy.
• Google Firebase provides product analytics through Firebase Analytics and crash diagnostics through Firebase Crashlytics. Google BigQuery stores exported Analytics and Crashlytics data for analysis under the configuration described above. See the Google Privacy Policy and Firebase privacy and security information.
• Website hosting providers for serving these pages.

These providers operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

9. Storage, retention, and deletion

Settings and local app state are stored on your device. Deleting the app normally removes this local data from that installation. Using iOS's Offload App option retains documents and data. Copies in device backups are managed separately through Apple's backup settings.

Purchase and access records may remain with Apple and Adapty for as long as needed to validate a transaction, provide or restore purchased access, handle refunds and billing issues, prevent fraud, maintain security, and satisfy legal, accounting, or financial obligations.

Firebase retains Analytics and Crashlytics data according to the applicable service settings and Google's policies. BigQuery exports currently expire after 60 days under the Sandbox configuration described above. Different records may need to be kept longer where required for security, fraud prevention, legal, financial, or technical reasons.

Support emails are kept for as long as reasonably needed to respond and maintain support history.

Deleting the app does not itself delete records already held by Apple, Adapty, Firebase, BigQuery, website providers, or our support inbox. A deletion request may not cover records that Apple, Adapty, Google, or the developer must retain for legal, financial, technical, security, or anti-fraud reasons.

10. Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures appropriate to the information processed. We also rely on Apple, Adapty, Google, and website infrastructure providers to protect information within their systems. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

11. International processing

Apple, Adapty, Google, and website infrastructure providers may process information in countries other than the country where you live. The BigQuery dataset used by Defogit is currently located in the EU multi-region, but this does not mean that every provider operation occurs only in the European Union. Provider privacy policies describe their international data-handling practices and safeguards.

12. Your choices and rights

• You can stop using Defogit at any time.
• You can use Restore Purchases in Defogit to restore eligible background collections bought with the corresponding Apple Account.
• You can request a refund from Apple. Apple handles the request under its App Store policies and applicable law. See Apple's refund instructions.
• You can delete the app to remove local data from that installation, subject to the offload and backup details above. This does not delete remote records held by Apple, Adapty, Firebase, BigQuery, website providers, or our support inbox.
• Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete personal information, object to or restrict certain processing, or withdraw consent where processing relies on consent. Contact us to exercise these rights or ask about data collection. We may need information to locate the relevant records and verify your request.

13. Children's privacy

Defogit is not a service specifically directed to children. If you believe a child's personal information has been collected or provided inappropriately, please contact us so we can review the situation and take appropriate action.

14. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, the date on this page will be updated.
